b2ap3_thumbnail_1_IMG_4173.JPGDear friends, welcome to My Own Italy, to discover Italy with my personal touch!

Our travel today is to Aosta Valley to enjoy the thermal care looking at the White Mount : I invite you to experience a wellness path that satisfies not only the body looking at the landscape that looks like a postcard.

I suggest you to enjoy the Terme of Saint - Vincent.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_6419.JPG Saint-Vincent, located in a valley sheltered from the wind, with a mild climate, and thus nicknamed "the Riviera of the Alps", two of the most famous in the Valle d'Aosta.

Its tourist development is due precisely to the spa, discovered in 1770 by Abbot Jean-Baptiste Perret, who noted that persistently grazing cows were affected by water spring gushing from rocks micaceous dyed red.

b2ap3_thumbnail_prima_costruzione.jpgIn fact the water was analyzed, and it turned out that it is rich in bicarbonate, carbonic acid, sodium sulfate and chlorides and therefore the water of St. Vincent could be considered diuretic, purgative and much more mineralized than others (and for this it was called "Fons Salutis" source of health).

b2ap3_thumbnail_Cascata_ghiaccio_2.jpg The fame of the water quickly spread and it was found that the water, in a number of its components, exceeded famous waters such as that of Vichy and Sangemini.

At the end of the eighteenth century a road was built to connect the village to the "Fons Salutis" to the first tiny reception room and water distribution.

Meanwhile in Saint-Vincent many people began to arrive for thermal treatments, including the son of the King of Sardinia, the Queen Maria-Theresa of Austria, wife of Vittorio Emanuele I with the princesses Maria-Anna and Maria-Cristina Prince Louis Napoleon and even Giosué Carducci and Silvio Pellico.

b2ap3_thumbnail_3_IMG_4178.JPG Towards the end of the nineteenth century also Queen Margherita bother with the waters of the Baths, as well as many nobles, and also lawyers, notaries, clergymen, clerks royalists, military, merchants, bankers.

The new Thermal Centre, built next to the old center of treatment, and re-opened very recently, has a modern spa.

b2ap3_thumbnail_7_IMG_4188.JPG In addition to the spa, the new Thermal spa of Saint-Vincent can offer many activities for the wellness of the guests.

There are three indoor pools and one outdoor, each with different proposals for whirlpools and water jets; three saunas with different temperatures and humidity; the turkish bath (hammam) .

The proposal for the wellness also includes three private suites, elegant and comfortable, which guarantee the privacy of the guests.

The most suggestive atmosphere is offered through the starry sky that can be seen from the outside tanks experiencing the thrill of the "Terme at Midnight", every Saturday starting at 10 pm and up to 1 am: a must!

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_4183.JPGI personally had a great time, leaving the tension and letting myself be pampered by the enveloping jets and toning of the pools and enjoying the relaxation with an Ayurvedic massage.
