b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_3273.JPGMy friends, welcome to My Own Italy to discover Italy with My Personal Touch!

Our travel today is to Piedmont  to admire the majesty and splendor of the Savoy Court.

After visiting the wonderful Venaria Reale come with me and visit the beautiful Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi.

A long, stately driveway, lined with farmsteads and horse stables, leading to Turin at the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi  (Hunting Lodge).

It is surmounted by a statue of the Deer (now replaced by a copy) surrounded by a park of 150,000+ square meters.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_3296.JPGA place for leisure and hunting, this was the favourite spot of the Savoy family for spectacular parties and solemn marriages, as well as being the residence of Napoleon in the early 19th century.

Filippo Juvarra designed the exceptional architecture for the sovereign, styled on the model of contemporary Central European Residences.

For completing the project, also Benedetto Alfieri and other architects of the 1700s gave a hand.

The cabinetmakers and carvers, stucco decorators and gilders helped to achieve the final decorative display.

From the main hall four arms depart lower to form a cross of St. Andrew, where there are the royal apartments and also the apartments for the guests.

The themes of the decoration of the rooms are a hymn to the practice of hunting and the sumptuousness of the details.

The rich testimonies of Italian Rococo' style furniture, precious materials are the evidence of the splendor and sophistication of the Savoy court.

The visit to this jewel of the Royal Residence of the King of Italy was an amazing experience for me: this is a must-see destination for your holiday in Italy to enjoy the cities of art.

Leisure me, this is my tourism!
